The 2023 American Formula E race will take place at Portland International Raceway. Portland will host round 12 of the 16 race schedule for season 9 of the Formula E race series. In a revolutionary effort Formula E has changed the way we think about racing and offered us an avenue toward pursuing more energy sustainable and environmentally green racing. Alberto Longo, Formula E’s chief championship officer, said in a recent press release: “We are excited to bring the premier electric motorsport world championship to Portland for the first time in June. There is a big, passionate fanbase for professional sports in the city, together with strong ecological credentials which makes Portland a perfect host for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.”

The race will also coincide with the release of the Gen3 race car. Per a recent Formula E press release, the Gen3 is the third generation of race car in Formula E and the fastest, lightest, most powerful and efficient electric race car ever built. More details surrounding the performance of this car will be available as we learn more in future specification releases. One thing that’s certain; performance will not be ignored given the rumored top speeds reaching 200mph.
