Peter Hickman denies Michael Dunlop the opportunity to extend his overall TT win count to 26 TT wins. Hickman won the final race of the Isle of Man TT, Senior TT. Hickman won by a commanding margin of 20 seconds. Behind Hickman finished Dean Harrison who did not secure a win this year in the TT but was able to secure a number of podium finishes as a consolation. Hickman took the lead on his way to Ballaugh Bridge, setting the first ever sub-three minute sector time. The win marked his 13th TT win and 4th in the 2023 Isle of Man TT. With racing now over Hickman will walk away as the final winner of the competition.
The 2023 Isle of Man TT races seemed to mainly be a battle between Peter Hickman, Michael Dunlop and Dean Harrison. Despite a few mechanical issues these three riders were most commonly fighting for wins. Both Hickman and Dunlop secured 4 wins this campaign. Dunlop will have to wait until 2024 if he wants to extend his legacy and become the most winning TT racer in history. This year the TT seems to have breezed by. With the race finale now complete the riders will pack up and the Isle of Man who’s population ballooned 19% over last years fan turn out will dwindle day by day as normal life returns to the Manx island.
